What do you think?

I asked Richard what time I needed to be at the church to hitch a ride to volunteer at the homeless shelter and he said unfortunately there was a good chance it was going to be cancelled. He said he’d probably have a movie night instead for the people he couldn’t get a hold of to tell them that it was cancelled, but said he wished we could get something accomplished instead of just watching a movie. He asked me what I thought of it all, and we talked for a while about different possibilities. When he first asked I was caught a little off-guard. It was such a small and seemingly insignificant question, but that little, insignificant question made me feel like I was important. I was so happy to feel like Richard cared about what I thought. It’s surprising how something so small can make a person feel so significant. Thank you, Richard. I hope everything works out tonight.
